Friends of the Library
The primary purpose of the Friends of the Library is to support the library and staff with special projects and events. All of the funding is used to promote and enhance the services of the local library. These endeavors include assisting with open house, arranging receptions, conducting book sales, supporting summer and children’s reading programs, purchasing materials, assisting with maintenance of the building, book clubs, contacting the state legislature and local county commissions for continued and improved funding.
In addition, the Friends of the Library supports the Quay Sylvester Memorial Book collection, which makes additional copies of new and bestselling books accessible to the public, assists with the administration of the Dolly Parton Imagination library, supports library staff with professional development, and supports the Community Room with improvements and decorations.
There is no fee to join the Friends of the Library, but donations are appreciated. You can pick up an application at the front desk.
