Community Meeting Rooms


Room Policies

The library has several meeting rooms available for use by government, community, educational, nonprofit and civic groups. The rooms are available to use for these groups free of charge. Private or corporate groups may use the room for a fee of $30 per hour. Users are responsible for the care of the rooms, the promotion and staffing of events, food preparation and safety and security, setup, takedown, etc., and are strongly encouraged to book enough time to complete these activities. All events must be free of charge and open to the general public. Rooms are available on a first come, first served basis and can be booked by calling the library (850-342-0205).

The room must be booked by an adult 18 years or older, with an operational phone number, who will be physically present during the event and take responsibility for conforming to room and library policies. Teen or youth programs or clubs must have an adult advisor/supervisor who has completed a Level II background check or similar formal approval process (groups of teens may use the library informally for socialization, reading, study, etc. without permission).

While the library makes every effort to accommodate bookings, there is no guarantee that rooms will be available at requested or regular times (e.g., “every Wednesday at 3 p.m.”). Rarely, a group may be moved or asked to reschedule due to a scheduling conflict. The library will not be able to accommodate groups that violate patron behavior policies; intend to use the library as a headquarters; require excessive or unusual duties of library staff; incur unusual costs (e.g., other than daily maintenance of the rooms); advocate violence; or serve alcohol.

Library spaces are limited use public spaces and access cannot be denied based on content. Booking and use of the rooms does not reflect an endorsement of any organization or opinion by library administration or staff, Jefferson County or the State of Florida.

Community Room

JCPL’s community room seats 50 people and is a great place for classes or larger events. The room has a large screen and projector, laptop and wifi access, podiums, and tables and chairs that can be assembled in a classroom, breakout group or theater setup. There is a counter available for serving food, a refrigerator, and separate access to the garden.

Small Meeting Room

The Small Meeting Room is perfect for your board meeting, conference call, meeting prep or other small event. The room seats 8 and includes a whiteboard, wifi access, and access to a refrigerator, microwave and sink.

Other Library Areas

Other areas of the library, such as the teen room or computer lab, may be available upon special request. Areas of the main library may be booked for activities such as tabling, voter registration, petitions, etc., as as long as they do not violate library behavior policies or interfere with the safe access to the library by others.
